John Steven Smith's Obituary
John Steven Smith age 66 of Ravenna passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his home. John was born on October 5, 1956 in Muskegon the son of Robert Wayne and Joyce Lorraine (O'Brien) Smith Sr., and graduated from Muskegon Oakridge High School with the class of 1975. On May 14, 2005, he married Lori Jean Anderson and they have celebrated 17 years together. John worked as a machinist for Johnson Technology for over 20 years and recently for a friend at his machine shop until his retirement.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara Smith, and his brothers Ken and Randy Smith. Along with his wife Lori, he will be greatly missed by his daughters Rebecca (Jon) Lutz of Whitehall and Elizabeth Smith of Muskegon; his son Steven M. (Beth) Smith of Ravenna; his stepsons Robert Anderson of Sparta and Brandon (Laura) Anderson of Casnovia; 12 grandchildren; his brother Robert (Cindy) Smith Jr. of Muskegon; his sister-in-law Brenda Smith of Whitehall; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A ceremony to celebrate John's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 15 at the Sullivan Community Church, 3951 Barnes Road, Ravenna. Those who wish to remember John with a memorial donation are asked to please consider Harbor Hospice.
