John Glenn Strait's Obituary
John Glenn Strait, age 58, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 26, 2020 with his family by his side. He was born February 20, 1962 in Muskegon, Michigan to Lynn and Rose Marie Strait. After graduating from Muskegon High School in 1980, he joined the United States Air Force and was able to travel through many parts of Europe. Following his discharge from the military, he started his longtime career in the telecommunications industry; spending many years at MOSS Telecommunications. John enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a love for music and an extreme passion for playing guitar and The Rolling Stones. John had the biggest heart and has touched the lives of so many people during his life. His daughters were the light of his life and his favorite role of all, being Coolest Papa John to Harper Grace. John did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. Survivors include his daughters: Tiffany (Kellen) Hatcher of Macclenny, FL and Madison (Hunter) Hubers of Grand Rapids, MI; one granddaughter, Harper Hatcher of Macclenny, FL; brothers: David (Roberta) Strait, Robert (Deanne) Strait both of Muskegon, MI, Timothy (Lori) Strait of Milwaukee, WI, and Joel (Jennifer) Strait of Aurora, IL; sisters: Laura Strait, Jennifer (Larry) Winslow both of Muskegon, MI, and Valerie Strait of Brooklyn, NY; brother in law, Gene Stout of Muskegon, MI; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Strait; sister, Sue Stout; and granddaughter, Hadley Rose Hatcher. A Celebration of John’s life will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at Hagar’s Hideaway in Muskegon, MI from 5:00-8:00 pm. Memorial contributions in John’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association. For those wishing to send flowers, please have them sent to Hagar’s Hideaway the day of the service.
