John N. Watts' Obituary
Mr. John N. Watts, age 82, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at home in Muskegon. He was born on September 13, 1937 in Richmond, Kentucky. John was a Veteran of the US Army, and worked for Cannon-Muskegon for many years prior to retiring in 2000. He was a long-time member of Oak Crest Church of God, where he served as their Treasurer for 42 years. John loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, and also with his friends at Big Apple Bagel. On November 12, 1960, he married the former Rhoda Dobben and she survives him after almost 59 years of marriage together. Also surviving John are his three children, Anthony (Charlotte) Watts of Muskegon, Martin (Dana) Watts of Mississippi, Tamela (Gregory) Cunningham of Muskegon; two grandchildren, Stephanie Watts and Derek (Samantha) Watts; two great grandchildren, Logan and Levi; numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and step great great grandchildren; sister, Andrea (Timm) Geiger; brothers, Shelby (Sharon) Croucher, Elliott (Barbara) Watts, Harry (Judy) Watts; sisters-in-law, Dorcas Miller, Mari Dobben, Dorothy Morrison; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel (Vangie) Dobben and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Elliott and Estelle (Hutchinson) Watts; birth parents, Jesse and Hattie (Whittaker) Croucher; five sisters; and one brother. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7PM Sunday, September 22, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 12noon Monday, September 23 at Oak Crest Church of God (1540 Leonard St.) with Bishop Robert Rogers officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service, from 11-12PM. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to Oak Crest Church of God or Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
