Jodi and family, I had heard John wasn't well of late. So, sorry I didn't take time to connect. John and I grew up a few blocks apart, got into our share of mischief back in the day. But, Devil's dip, the old roller rink, kick the can at Olsen's, prank'in Bob Pierre where things that kept busy early in life. Then we started playing football at early age, pee wees, bantams, then on to perhaps our best year in 8th grade going undefeated and having more fun than ever through high school in the fall. I now realize how much I miss all those good ole days. John was the best, always positive and always happy, very very good friend to many of us.

Very sorry for you loss, and my thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve this loss.

To simply say John was like a father to me, does not even come close to how much his presence in my life impacted who I am today. From my years of working at Strevel's to the countless family dinners, I loved this man for his crazy sense of humor and jolly personality, but most of all because of how much he cared. I lost my own father approximately a year before giving birth to my first child. John came to the hospital the following morning and after giving me a big hug, proceeded to tell me that my baby girl was beautiful and that he was proud of me. When he left the room tears of happiness came to my eyes because he had been there when my father was not able. No words can express, how much this gesture meant to me.

Jodi, I was so shocked to read about John. I knew he was ill, but never knew that it would lead to this. My heart is with you, for I feel like I have known you two forever.
