John A. DeRouin's Obituary
Mr. John A. DeRouin, age 49, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, April 23, 2005, at Mercy Hospital. He was born January 9, 1956, in Muskegon, to Andrew & Lucille (Goodreau) DeRouin and had been a life resident of the area. John was employed as a service technician for W. S. Reed Office Supply Co.; and was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and its music ministry. He was also an active member of Cursillo and DeColores and playing at guitar masses. John loved his family, restoring cars and “buying parts”. On May 13, 1994 he married the former Bretta Botbyl and she survives him along with their 3 children, Christa, Andelyn and Colden DeRouin; 1 brother, Jerry (Patti) DeRouin of Muskegon; nephew and niece, Chad & Amy DeRouin and by his in-laws, Carolyn Botbyl and Richard Botbyl, both of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim DeRouin. The FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church (3252 Apple Ave) with the Rev. Fr. Michael Olsen presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at the Church, where A SCRIPTURE SERVICE will be held at 7 PM and THE ROSARY will be prayed at 8 PM.
