John Dale Midkiff's Obituary
Mr. John Dale Midkiff, age 66, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 27, 2010 at a local hospital. John was born November 25, 1943 in Holcomb, MO to Marvin and Beatrice (Britton) Midkiff. On March 19, 1983 John married the former Lynda Ryan in Muskegon and she survives him. He was a member of Sheridan Road Church of Christ. John had worked as a machine repairman at Sealed Power for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1992. He had also been a building contractor for many years and was a 30 year member of Local 637. John enjoyed fast cars and hot rods and attended many, many car shows. His pride and joy was his white ’61 Chevy Impala S/S Convertible. In addition to his wife of 27 years, Lynda, he is survived by his children, Randy (and special friend Debbie Gue) of Hesperia, Shelly (Mike) Robinson of Pentwater, Eric Midkiff of Muskegon, and Leigh Ann (Joe) Siwicke of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren, Nichole “Coley” , Nicholas ,Bobbie Jo, Devon, Dominic “Domino”, Jamie, Courtney ”Hot Rod”, Samantha “Sambo”and Bradley; 3 great grandchildren, Kaylie, Cole, and Kayden, and 2 on the way; a brother, Tom (Sally) Midkiff of Loganville, GA; a sister, Lisa (Mike) Alsteen of Muskegon; special sister-in-law, Patsy Lenderman of Arkansas; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and J.T. Rauen of Muskegon; his best friend, Jack Stevens, many nieces and nephews, and special church friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers, Max, Dave, and Howard. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1 PM Monday, November 1, 2010 at Sheridan Road Church of Christ (4521 S. Sheridan ) with his Pastor, Robert M. Hodgman officiating. VISITATION will be Sunday from 2-6 PM at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Sheridan Road Church of Christ. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
