John "Jack" Meagher's Obituary
Mr. John “Jack” T. Meagher age 92 passed away Sunday August 21, 2011. John was born February 27, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan to Matthew and Elizabeth (Madigan) Meagher. He married the former Vivian Contani on August 22, 1941 who preceded him in death. John was a purchasing agent for and retired from AVP Baker in Grand Rapids, MI. He enjoyed all sports; especially golf and was a member of the Spring Lake Country Club for many years. John was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Norton Shores before moving to Oakcrest Retirement Community in Spring Lake, MI. John was also preceded in death by his sons Shannon and Thomas Meagher. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his children, Sandra (Ken) Tischer, Colleen Furlo, Brian (Gaynell) Meagher; daughter-in-law, Martha Meagher; grandchildren, Jim (Shelly) Ginter, Julie (Kirk) Miller, Matthew Furlo, Antonia Furlo, Jorey Meagher, Colleen (Joe) McCune and Ryan Meagher; great-grandchild, Owen McCune; sister, Mary Farugia and many nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Muskegon. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the American Diabetes Association and American Kidney Fund. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
