John "Jack" Rumohr's Obituary
Mr. John “Jack” Rumohr, age 74, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born July 6, 1936 to John and Sophia (Curths) Rumohr, and resided in the area for the past 10 years. Jack was a teacher at Zeeland Public Schools for the 28 years before retiring, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved to play and coach golf and baseball. Jack was a Western Michigan University alumni, and a member in the Baseball Hall of Fame at WMU. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motorhome. On May 25, 1979 he married the former Joan (Kamhout) and she survives him along with son, Clifford Rumohr; daughter, Carrie Rumohr; grandchildren, Ollie, Tevin, Thomas, Malik, John and one great grandchild. John was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Lilian Gort and Pearl Marshall. The Memorial Service for Mr. Rumohr will be 2pm Saturday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior, from 1-2PM.
