John J. "Jack" Seling's Obituary
Mr. John J. “Jack” Seling, age 84, passed away Wednesday morning, March 9, 2005. He was born March 12, 1920 to John and Mary Seling in Manistique, MI. Mr. Seling was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Prior to retiring in 1982, Jack sailed the Great Lakes on the ore carriers. On January 27, 1962, he married Marie Ann Brulla in Manistique, MI and she preceded him in death on December 11, 1991. SURVIVORS include 2 step-sons, Richard (Nancy) Willcutt and Roger (Lynn) Willcutt both of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Riggs and Patrick Willcutt; 1 great grandson, Garrett Riggs; 9 step grandchildren and many step great-grandchildren. John is also survived by his sister, Catherine Seling. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Andrew Seling and 1 sister, Jeanette Seling. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 1:00 PM Saturday at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Julian Reginato as celebrant. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Friday. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Salvation Army or Hospice VNS.
