John Joseph Dwyer's Obituary
John Joseph Dwyer, age 67, passed away Thursday evening at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on September 8, 1943 to Miles J. and Margaret (Vietenhiemer) Dwyer. John served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was employed as a Master Electrician at Muskegon Heights Public Schools for 20 yrs., retiring in 2005. John was devoted to his catholic faith and attended both, Our Lady of Grace and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches. He is survived by: two daughters, Lindsay (Steve) Jarvis and Aleah S. Dwyer, both of Muskegon; two grandchildren, Braxtyn Jarvis and Torrance Fallert; one brother, Terry (Linda) Dwyer of Grand Haven; and two sisters, Mary (Paul) Sidlecki-Kuhn of Rockford, MI and Peggy (Kim) Marks of CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 239 W. Clay Ave, 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Fr. Matthew Barnum presiding. Visitation: Monday, 6-8 P.M. The visitation will begin with a Scripture Service at 6:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: St. Mary’s Church for a Mass.
