John William Frein Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. John William Frein Sr., age 84, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at a local hospital. John was born April 17, 1923 in Lombard, IL., to John and Martha (Uteritz) Frein. He has lived in this area since the age of 4. John proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. On August 31, 1945, he married the former Evelyn Whitney in Muskegon. John was the manufacturing manager for Michigan Spring Co. where he was employed for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1992. John enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. A caring and giving person, with a very mechanical mind; he could fix just about anything for neighbors, friends, and family. John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is SURVIVED by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn; 2 sons, John Jr. (Bonnie) Frein of Norton Shores and Ronald (Julie Sasse) Frein of Sanford, MI; 5 grandchildren, Kristen, Jesse, Karly, Kyle, and Heidi; 2 great grandchildren, Ryland and Jolie; 2 brothers, Marvin Frein of Muskegon and Edwin(Judy) Frein of Grand Rapids, MI; his sister, Bernice Keith of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Theodore, Ralph, Clarence, Elmer, and Walter. VISITATION will be held Monday, March 31, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at
