Jon George Quellos' Obituary
Jon George Quellos, age 67, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 22, 2020. He was born February 22, 1953 in Cleveland, OH. On September 5, 1975, he married the love of his life, MaryAnn Mellott, in Parma, OH. SURVIVORS include his wife, MaryAnn of Spring Lake; 2 children: Marie (Chris) Benefiel of Fort Wayne, IN and John Quellos of Vicksburg, MI; 4 grandchildren: Jon, Aubree, Jayden, and Marisa; Uncle John and Aunt Jeanette Patrick of Parma, OH; many close family and friends; and his beloved dog, Gracie. He was preceded in death by his very special in-laws, Robert and Josephine Mellott. Jon worked 32 years for General Motors prior to his retirement in 2008. Jon was an avid car enthusiast. He loved working on them and was able to spend his last weekend racing his Scat Pack Challenger. When Jon wasn’t working on cars or playing at “Nuttin’ But Toys” he enjoyed working in his yard and having “daily meetings” with his neighbors Earl, Don, and John. He is going to miss the time spent with his dear friends, Al and Diana LaFleur, Andy and Crystal Mitzel, and Danny McCorkle, who were more family than friends. But most importantly, he loved his family and they always came first. He would do anything for his family, especially his grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life and meant the world to him, and he was such a special grandpa. Jon was one of a kind and will be truly missed. A CELEBRATION OF JON’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2020 underneath the South Portico at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Share memories with the family at their On-line Guest Book at www.sytsemafh.com
