Jonathon A. "Weezer" Haggerty's Obituary
Mr. Jonathon Armond “Weezer” Haggerty, age 35, passed away at his home on Monday, February 1, 2016. He was born in Muskegon on March 13, 1980 to John and Chris (Rosenberg) Haggerty. At the age of nine, Jonathon was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was given two weeks to live. However, Jonathon was a fighter, and he refused to give up. Although he faced several challenges in his life, he always kept a positive attitude, a fighting spirit, and a sense of humor that would brighten your day. As a boy, Jonathon enjoyed attending Camp Catch a Rainbow, a camp for children who suffered from cancer. He also had the opportunity to travel to Florida with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. There he enjoyed his time spent at Disney World and Busch Gardens. Jonathon enjoyed camping, parties with his family, camp fires, and trips to the casino. He was a dedicated hockey fan, having season tickets at the LC Walker Arena for the past 20 years, very rarely missing a game. He was also an avid Michigan State fan and he enjoyed bowling. Jonathon had formerly worked at Goodwill Industries and Kandu. He had been a member of St. Jean’s Catholic Church before they closed. He is survived by his parents, John and Chris Haggerty; two sisters, Kristi Haggerty (Ryan Rodriquez) and Mari Haggerty; one niece, Brezlynn; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Jonathon will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Ron Amos officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service. MEMORIALS in Jonathon’s name may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
