José L. Gonzalez Jr.'s Obituary
José L. Gonzalez Jr., age 30, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 after a two year battle with cancer. He was born in Los Angeles, California on March 16, 1994 to José L. Gonzalez-Amado Sr. and Amalia Vazquez-Adame. He was a 2012 graduate of Muskegon High School, where he played football, soccer, and baseball. On October 7, 2017, in Muskegon, he married his high school sweetheart, Julia Carson. José worked as a Registered Radiological Technologist, first at Hackley Hospital and later at Trinity Muskegon. José was the kind of person who embraced every opportunity and inspired others to step outside their comfort zones, whether it was trying new foods or exploring different experiences. José was a light in every room, and made friends everywhere he went. He was always ready to lend a hand whenever someone needed help. Above all, José deeply cherished his family, who remained his greatest priority and source of joy. SURVIVORS include his wife, Julia; three children, Mateo, twins Miles & Carson; his parents, José and Amalia; sister, Karen Grey (Brandon Duncan), nephews, Damian, Samuel & Dean; in-laws, Alan and Elizabeth Carson; brother-in-law, Ben (Jenna) Carson, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Life for José will be Friday, January 17, 2025 from 3-7pm at Hagar’s Hideaway in Muskegon. Funds have been set up for José’s children, and contributions are appreciated.
