Jose L. Melgoza's Obituary
Jose L. Melgoza passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 – his 67th birthday. He was born May 8, 1952 in San Antonio Michoacan de, Ocampo, Mexico to Jesus and Eloisa Melgoza and became a permanent resident of the United States in 1989. Jose worked over 30 years as a meat processor for Bil-Mar Foods, Hillshire Farms, and retired from Tyson Foods in 2017. In 1980, he married Josephine Rivera and she survives him. He was active with the Latin American Club for many years. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Melgoza, his daughter, Angelica (Alex Martinez) Melgoza; his son, Jose Iglesias; 5 grandchildren, Leticia Melgoza, Natalia Godoy, Yvelisse Martinez, Eliana Martinez, Jimena Martinez; 1 great-granddaughter, Ariya Wright; and 2 brothers, Raul (Kathy) Melgoza and Martin (Bertha) Melgoza. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Alberto and Hector Melgoza. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Interment will follow at Mona View Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family.
