Joseph G. "Joe" Balaskovitz's Obituary
Joseph G. “Joe” Balaskovitz, age 89, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025. He was born April 28, 1936 in Muskegon to Joseph and Anne (Polani) Balaskovitz and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the U.S. Marines National Guard. On June 2, 1956, he married Marie C. Rogozinski at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Muskegon. Joe was the founder and owner of Versatile Fabrication until his retirement in 1999. Joe was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #706. He was also very active at the Muskegon Country Club and the American Legion. Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Marie C. Balaskovitz; 3 sons, Joe (Kris) Balaskovitz, Ron (Sherri) Balaskovitz, Dan Balaskovitz; 8 grandchildren, Joe (Sarah) Balaskovitz, Andy (Shane) Balaskovitz, Ron (Tiffany) Balaskovitz II, Tyler (Eve) Balaskovitz, Emma Balaskovitz, Brendan (Allison) Balaskovitz, Thomas Balaskovitz, Katee Balaskovitz; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, George (Penny) Balaskovitz; and 2 sisters, Margaret (Stanley) Scott, and Pat (Robert) Aardema. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Michael Balaskovitz, his parents and 1 sister, Eleanor Williams. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1110 Dykstra Road, North Muskegon, MI 49445) with Rev. Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Tuesday. Interment will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery.
