Joseph C. Bleibtrey III's Obituary
Mr. Joseph C. Bleibtrey III, age 60, of Spring Lake, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023. He was born in Lansing to Joseph Bleibtrey II and Michele (Rother) Welch.
An amazing father and grandfather, Joe is survived by his children, Ashley (Garrett) McGuire and Joseph C. “JC” Bleibtrey IV, both of Grand Rapids, and grandchildren, Coen and Maeve McGuire. He also is survived by his mother, Michele Welch; brothers, Michael Bleibtrey and Justin (Erin) Welch; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his dads, Joseph Bleibtrey II and Jerry Welch.
An avid runner, Joe loved the outdoors - especially being in Grand Haven enjoying the sun, beach, and beautiful Lake Michigan. His family and friends have countless memories of spending time with him walking the beach, taking a boat ride, or just having conversations and laughter. Joe’s smile and energy were contagious. He never met a person that he did not like and made every person feel special.
Joe had a long, successful career in the auto industry. He shared his passion for cars with his son JC. They spent many hours debating and discussing cars, which prompted JC to attend Northwood University and also embark on a career in the auto industry.
Joe was extremely proud that his daughter and son-in-law graduated from Michigan State University, especially since he was a long-time Spartan supporter. Joe loved attending MSU sporting events with his family. Go Green!
Joe will be remembered as a generous friend to many and as a caring, understanding, and loving father and grandfather.
A celebration of life will take place later this year.
