Joseph A. Hammerle IV's Obituary
Joseph Anthony Hammerle IV, age 34, passed away on May 2, 2023 surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle against leiomyosarcoma in Muskegon. He was born on February 16, 1989 to Joseph Hammerle and Wendi (Kozecke) Hammerle in Wheat Ridge, CO. Joey attended Baker College, Western Michigan University, and Arizona State University. He decided to pursue a career as a paramedic and worked throughout West Michigan. Over the course of his remarkable career, Joey helped countless people in need and delivered six babies. When not working, he enjoyed spending a lot of his time staying active. Some of his favorite outdoor activities included hunting, fishing, camping, skydiving, and hiking. Joey also enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, golf, skiing, and playing his guitar. He loved exploring new areas while traveling and spending quality time with his family and friends. Joey will always be remembered by his brothers, Cody Hammerle (Julia Walsh) and Dustin Hammerle (Katie Knowlson); father, Joe Hammerle; mother, Wendi Hammerle; grandmother, Irma (Les) Hesse; and many extended family and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Hammerle; grandparents, Walter and Mary Lou Kozecke; aunt, Emalie Williams; and cousins, Keagon Harp and Elena Barton. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, May 6 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
