Mr. Joseph "Joe" G. Akershoek's Obituary
Joseph Akershoek, age 85, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017. He was born on May 9, 1931 to Paul and Audrey (Woodard) Akershoek in Muskegon. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army. On June 18, 1955, he married the love of his life, the former Cora Jane Collins, who survives him. Joe is also survived by his foster daughter, Judy (Charlie) Dykman; and four nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and faithful companion, Benny. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Joseph will take place on Thursday, February 2, 201 at Cedar Creek Alliance Chapel (7193 Sweeter Rd.) at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior to services.
