Joseph F. Lehan Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Joseph F. Lehan, Sr., age 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 9, 2013. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on August 15, 1924 to John and Mary (Helpiansky) and graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1943. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served as a photographer in WWII and the Korean War aboard the USS Swasey (DE 248). Joseph had worked for 40 years at Teledyne Continental Motors before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailor Association, the Don Rea VFW Post #8846, the American Legion Post #185 and the Muskegon Eagles. Joseph loved photography and continued that passion throughout his entire life. On August 16, 1947, he married the former Leona Mae Josephson in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on July 11, 1991. He is survived by 3 grandchildren, Gennessa Lehan, Dustin Lehan, Alicia Springer and 1 sister, Gloria Corpe. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph F. Lehan, Jr.;3 brothers, Andrew, John and Frank Lehan; and a sister Terry Lehan. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565.
VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery.
