Joseph Rebar's Obituary
Joseph Rebar, age 95, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at home. He was born October 26, 1928, in Grand Haven, MI to Julius and Mary (Slosarik) Rebar, Sr. He married Lois A. Homann on September 1, 1979, in Grand Haven, and she preceded him in death on October 4, 2016.
Joe was a lifelong resident of the area and worked for Ottawa Steel from 1950-1983 and R.A. Miller, from 1983 until retirement. He was a member of United Methodist Church of the Dunes. Joe was an active man and enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, walking, working, and following Grand Haven Buccaneers athletics.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Deborah (Carl) Harlan; two sons, Joseph (Wendy) Rebar, Jr. and David Rebar; stepchildren, Susan Erickson, Jim Pushaw, Robert Pushaw, John Pushaw, William Pushaw and Thomas (Eve) Pushaw; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann (Larry) Probst; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mildred Vokal and Margaret Walwood; and two brothers, Julius Rebar, Jr. and Rudolph Rebar.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the United Methodist Church of the Dunes with Rev. Louis Grettenberger officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions to the United Methodist Church of the Dunes are appreciated.
