Joseph J. "Dutch" Visscher's Obituary
Mr. Joseph J. “Dutch” Visscher, age 83, passed away April 8, 2013 at a local nursing home. He was born on April 25, 1929 to Joseph and Helena (Pfhistner) Visscher Sr. in Muskegon. Dutch was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He served 12 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves and worked for the Keebler Company for over 30 years in the sales department. Dutch was a strong supporter of the Sherriff ‘s Department, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles – Big Rapids #2535. In Dutch’s free time and after retirement, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, cooking, crossword puzzles, yard work and did everything to perfection. On October 7, 1950 he married Marjorie (DeWitt) in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 children; Karen (Lynn) Forell of Charlotte, MI and Randy (Kim) Visscher of Holt, MI; 3 grandchildren, Toby Crowe, Shelby Goddard and Brandon Visscher. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 12, 2013 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church (1206 Whitehall Rd) with Rev. William Uetricht officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to First Evangelical Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Entombment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
