Joseph "Butch" Friday's Obituary
Mr. Joseph B. “Butch” Friday, age 83, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2006. He was born October 12, 1922 in Muskegon to Joseph and Mary Louise (Morin) Friday. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force having served during WWII. He married the former Donna Marie Endres on June 18, 1943 and she preceded him in death on January 2, 1973. He later married the former Jeanne Rosalie Faucher on January 25, 1975 and she preceded him in death on April 2, 2005. He worked over 40 years at the Norge and retired as a supervisor in 1987. Butch enjoyed working crossword puzzles and going fishing. He was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served on the credit committee, Holy Name Committee and volunteered as an usher. He currently was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include his children, Lawrence (Rita) Friday, Ronald (Barb) Friday, Thomas (Patricia) Friday, Richard (Nancy) Friday, Cheryl (Terry) Sladic, Patricia (Mike) Bray, Michael Friday all of Muskegon; his step-children, Pete (Bobbie) Hinkley of Muskegon, Carol (Joe) Lenius and Pamela (Patrick) Powers both of Ludington, and Patricia (Joseph) Episcopo of Tampa, FL; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Bray, Jr. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Philip A. Sliwinski presiding. INTERMENT will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery with Military Honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION with Butch’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565.
