Mrs. Josephine J. "Jo Jo" Lasser's Obituary
Mrs. Josephine J. “Jo Jo” Lasser, age 102, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was born August 11, 1912 in Chicago, IL to Anton and Antonina (Pyjor) Sliwinski and lived most of her life in Muskegon. Mrs. Lasser worked as a cake decorator for her father’s bakery, “Anton’s”, before retiring. She was a communicant member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Polish Roman Catholic Union #78, and the Polish Falcons Lodge #276. Mrs. Lasser was also an avid Bingo and card player. On October 23, 1934 she married George M. Lasser in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1981. SURVIVORS include her daughter: Jeanne (Bob) Hall of Muskegon; daughter-in-law: Sue Lasser; 3 grandchildren: Deborah (Dean) Kemp, Janice (Paul) Bialik, Stacey (Jimmy) Bantjes; and 6 great-grandchildren: Mason, Clayton, Audra, Morgan, Cameren, and Olivia. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Lasser and a brother, Henry Sliwinski. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with her nephew the Rev. Fr. Phil Sliwinski presiding. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565.
