Josephine Mary Jo Pletcher's Obituary
Mrs. Josephine Mary “Mary Jo” Pletcher, age 80, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Spring Lake, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on January 18, 1941 to Nicholas and Josephine R. (Koolivitz) Wierema. Mary Jo had worked for Howmet Aerospace for over 30 years prior to her retirement. She loved her family and especially adored her nieces and nephews and all her extended family children. She had a gift for remembering all the kids’ birthdays. Mary Jo also held a special place in her heart for animals. After a 10-year courtship, Mary Jo married Thomas Pletcher in Las Vegas on November 20, 1983 and he survives her along with her sister, Peggy Dolislager; sister-in-law, Maureen Wierema; niece and nephews, Steve (Karen) Dolislager, Kristin (Jeff) Gerrans, and Evan Johnson; and great niece and nephews, Alex, Nick, and Brielle. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Nicholas Wierema; and brother-in-law, David Dolislager. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 5-8 PM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
