Josephine Sabina (Smith) Youngstrom's Obituary
Mrs. Josephine Sabina “Jo” (Smith) Youngstrom, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025. She was born in Fountain, Michigan on August 29, 1929 to John and Josephine (Zutantaite) Savickas. Jo was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family. Jo is survived by her children, Duane Ernest Smith, Vickie Lynn (Martin) Welbes, and Brian Keith (Julie) Smith; four grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Nathan Smith, Cody Smith, and Caleb (Samantha Londo) Smith; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Smith Jr., in 1984; her second husband, Howard Youngstrom, in 2014; grandson, Christopher Smith; brothers, Ben Savickas, Al Savickas, John Savickas, and Vincent Savickas; and sisters, Christine Hivley, Gerry Romanosky, and Sally Miesch. According to her wishes, a private family mass took place at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
