Joseph "Joe" Vanderstelt's Obituary
Mr. Joseph L. “Joe” Vanderstelt, age 59, passed away Saturday evening, November 26, 2005 at his home. He was born May 30, 1946 to Richard D. and Delia (Dobb) Vanderstelt in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Joe was the owner of Dawn to Dusk Outdoor Sports for the past 6 years, and previously worked for 17 years at Nichols Paper. He was a member of Calvary Church for 15 years, where he also served as a lay counselor. He currently was attending Kainay Community Church. Joe was active in Men’s Bible Study, Stephen’s Ministries, and was on the board of Rocking Horse Home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and fast pitch baseball, however his greatest passion was his love and concern for people. On November 3, 1990 he married Charlene “Char” Miller in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife Char; 8 children, Joe (Kris) Vanderstelt, Jr. of Murietta, CA, Brent Vanderstelt of Muskegon, Stephanie Johnson (Leo Geballa) of Glen Bunie, Maryland, Stephan Vanderstelt of Muskegon, Heather Vanderstelt of Muskegon, Lee (Maria) Vanderstelt of Muskegon, Troy Vanderstelt of Muskegon, Heidi Vanderstelt of Muskegon; 1 step-son, Jason (Danielle) Lemerise of Muskegon; 20 grandchildren; 1 brother, Larry (Donna) Vanderstelt of Warren, MI; 2 sisters, Rosemary (Mel) Simpkins of Spring Lake, Ruthann (Dan) Schweitzer of Grand Haven. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Kainay Community Church, 3387 Heights Ravenna Rd., with Pastor Glen Maiden and Pastor Bill Rudd officiating.
