Joseph Neal "Joey" Rasey's Obituary
Mr. Joseph Neal “Joey” Rasey, age 26, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011. He was born August 10, 1984 in Ottawa County to Jack and Kari (Houseman) Rasey and lived in the area his entire life. He was a people person and enjoyed spending time with his friends. Joey liked to hunt and liked to go walk at the family’s 40-acre property. He was also an avid computer “geek” and enjoyed tinkering with electronics. He collected comic books and enjoyed reading and writing. SURVIVORS include his parents, Jack and Kari Rasey of Norton Shores; 1 brother, Zach (Sami) Rasey of Norton Shores; his fiancé of 8 years, Christine Smith of Norton Shores; maternal grandmother, Marrianne Houseman of Muskegon; paternal grandfather, Jack (Jane) Rasey of Fruitport; aunts and uncles, Corrine Lifer and her children, Kyle, Michelle, and Ryan; Matthew (Heidi) Houseman of Muskegon and their children, Jacob, Emma, Megan, and Mattie; Jeff Lifer of Norton Shores; special “angel”, Nurse Michelle Klint from Mercy Hospital; and his labbie, “Izzy”. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Virgil Houseman and his paternal grandmother, Charlene Rasey. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, March 10, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Ron Amos officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Joey’s family will be 5-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service, 9:30-10:30 AM Thursday.
