Joy Ann Halloran's Obituary
Mrs. Joy Ann Halloran, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side following a brief illness, not related to the Covid-19 pandemic, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Joy was born in Muskegon on May 7, 1935 to Wesley and Grace (Dalton) Rambo. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and Western Michigan University, where she earned her degree in Education. Joy was one of the founding teachers of the preschool program in the Mona Shores School District where she taught for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed watching (and feeding) the birds, gardening, and dancing with her husband. Joy loved her family deeply, always making it a priority to keep in touch with both immediate and extended members, and especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On September 4, 1954, Joy married John J. Halloran at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Muskegon and he survives her along with their children, John Patrick (Paula) Halloran, Marianne (Tim) Rollenhagen, Daniel Halloran, Donna (Ryan) McHenry, Timothy Halloran, and Amy Halloran; sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Somers and Mary VanDyke; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and special relatives, Joe and Shirley Green. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church (920 Fulton St., Grand Haven 49417) with Fr. Charles Schwartz presiding.
