Joyce Nadine Brandt's Obituary
Joyce Nadine Brandt, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, in Grand Haven, MI. She was born March 14, 1934, to Clarence and Clara (Voss) Gilmore in Muskegon Heights, MI. She attended Muskegon Heights High School and graduated in 1951. On December 23, 1952, she married James H. Brandt, and they were able to spend 71 wonderful years together. Joyce devoted much of her time to raising her children, but she also enjoyed the 10 years she spent at General Electric as a line inspector.
Joyce had a quick wit about her and was not afraid to stand up for what was right. She always had a great attitude and was not afraid to express her gratitude for all that she was blessed with and by. Joyce found Christ at a young age, was not afraid to express her faith and was routinely heard talking to her Lord and Savior. James and Joyce enjoyed their time living in Florida for 25 years, moving back to Michigan 5 years ago as Joyce’s health began to change. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Joyce is survived by her husband, James; children, Leanne (Raymond) Jacobsen, Jeanne (Daryl) Eding, Ruthan (Robert) Brann, James Brandt, Jeremy (Bridgett) Brandt and John (Tracy) Brandt; 19 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren; and sister, Judy (Elbert) Black. She was preceded in death by her parents; great grandson, Taylor Brann; and brothers, Pete, Tom and Mike Gilmore.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11 AM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417) with VISITATION with the family 1 hour prior to the service.
