Mrs. Joyce P. Moss' Obituary
Joyce Phyllis Moss, age 88, passed away on July 18, 2016. Joyce was born on December 6, 1927 to Martin and Jennie DeYoung. She graduated from Lee High School in 1945. In 1949 she married Robert Moss and together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. Joyce worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company after high school until she was married. She was a homemaker, and continued to work part time which allowed her family to enjoy a few extras in life. Joyce was a great cook and loved gatherings with her family and friends. She had 2 wonderful groups of friends, those from the Grand Rapids area and those from “the lake”. She was a devoted supporter of her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce and her late husband Bob, were loving, hard-working, humble individuals who set a great example for their family. Joyce will be deeply missed. Joyce is survived by her 3 children Bob (Carol), Tom (Sharon), and Julie (Cliff) Essenburg; grandchildren, Lindsay, Ryan, Lynn and Sarah (Quinn) Clifford; 2 great-grandchildren, Drew and Emmy. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Marvin and James DeYoung. A VISITATION will be held on Thursday from 5-8 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100.
