Mrs. Joyce A. Oosterhart's Obituary
We are celebrating the homegoing of Joyce Oosterhart who passed away quietly at DaySpring Assisted Living. Joyce was the daughter of Leo and Gladys Mortensen and was born February 22, 1923 in Mason County, Michigan. Joyce worked at Michigan Spring and had her own Shaklee business for 40 years. She volunteered for the Red Cross for 30 years. Joyce taught Sunday School, was involved in the Easter Pageant and supported and entertained many missionaries over the years. She graduated from Fruitport High School at the age of 65. Joyce was known for her banana bread which she made for many of her neighbors along with other kindnesses. Joyce leaves behind 2 sons, Jimmy (Kay), Creg (David), and daughter, Nancy (Elden), 15 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Oosterhart, 2 sons, Jerry and Larry, granddaughter, Angela Christiansen, 2 brothers, Gordon and Robert Mortensen. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Joyce at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100.
