Oh Grandma…where to even begin? I made some toast this morning and cut it diagonally, just like you used to. You show up a lot in my life and I know you will continue to do so.
From the countless days of biking over, swimming in the pool, playing games, or baking butter cookies together…my life is exponentially better because of you. I will always be grateful for the many things you taught me (wrapping presents) and tried to teach me (knitting- gosh your patience!)
Thank you for the years of winter coats, the warm CMU mittens, taking me to get my ears pierced, and the MANY long talks we had about life, family, and love. Thank you for the hours of sitting on the floor and playing with the great grandkids. Thank you for your fiery competitive spirit and even cheering for that dumb team from Ohio. Most of all thank you for always being there. No matter what, I knew I could always call you and you’d be right there.
It won’t be the same without your strong will, fierce love for family, and comments about how Grandpa drives you crazy (but we all know how much you two loved one another). I already miss you so much but will forever be thankful for your legacy and memories.
