Joyce Darlene Paulsen's Obituary
Joyce D. Paulsen, age 81, went to be with her Lord on February 11, 2023. She was born in Muskegon, MI, to Frank and Lena (Rozeboom) Hartman and was the youngest of five children. She graduated from Muskegon High School. Joyce married Thomas Paulsen in March of 1963. She worked for GTE and later for Hackley Hospital where she retired from. Upon retirement, Joyce enjoyed vacationing at her condo in Florida. She was a member of the Mona Lake Boat Club for many years. She also enjoyed cooking, playing cards and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured every moment with her family and most recently with her great granddaughters, the youngest of which is just 1 week old.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Shelley Paulsen; son, Kirk (Angela) Paulsen; grandchildren, Carissa (Christopher) Grant and Rachel Paulsen; great-grandchildren, Mia and Scarlett Grant; step-great-grandchildren, Easton and Westlynn Grant; and her cherished companion of 30 years, Archie Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her siblings and in-laws, Frank (Joan) Hartman, Anna and Warren Hutchins, Mildred Gifford and Marilyn and Paul Voss.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444) with VISITATION 1 hour prior to the service.
