Joyce M. Pavlich's Obituary
Joyce Marie Pavlich, age 94, passed away surrounded by family at her home in Muskegon, MI, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Joyce was born on June 26, 1929, in Flint, MI, to Louis and Leona (Vayette) Capua. She graduated from St. Jean’s High School in 1948 and was a long-time member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. On July 18, 1953, she married Anthony Pavlich, and they spent 67 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2020. Joyce worked as a secretary at Dr. Harryman and Dr. Jesson’s office in Muskegon and spent most of her adult life as a homemaker caring for her family. Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother and a loyal friend who was always available for anyone who needed her. She loved spending time at her home with family and was a great cook. Joyce loved people and was a great listener with a good sense of humor. She was very creative and enjoyed making crafts and repurposing furniture. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children: Paul (Kelly) Pavlich, Cynthia (Paul) Whiteman, and Lisa (Anthony) Hartman; daughter in-law, Dana Pavlich; eight grandchildren: Shawn (Jamey) Detamore, Shannon Kops (Greg Sharlow), Linda (Ryan) Dobberstein, Christine (Trevor) Curtis, Brandon Whiteman, Desirae (Jordan) Olson, Hannah Pavlich, and Autumn Sharlow; three great-grandchildren: Jaslynn Kops, Chloe Kops, and Lily Dobberstein; sister in-law, Elizabeth Middlecamp; special niece, Darlene Cutro; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Leona Capua; husband, Anthony Pavlich; son, Steven Pavlich; and two sisters: Lorraine (Bud) Lamkin and Louise (Ken) Musk. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be taking place at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, with VISITATION taking place an hour beforehand. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Joyce’s memory to a charity of your choosing.
