Mrs. Joyce L. Plews' Obituary
Joyce L. Plews, age 88, passed away on September 4, 2015. Joyce was born on November 21, 1926 to Clarence and Vada Husted. In 1945 she married Lyle Plews and together they were blessed with 4 children and nearly 50 years of marriage before his death in 1993. Joyce attended Fruitport Congregational Church UCC. She enjoyed camping, reading and a good crossword puzzle. Joyce also cherished the years she worked with students, teachers and administrators at the Saranac and Pigeon-Bayport school systems. The biggest joy in her life though was always her family. She was a kind, caring, beautiful woman who will be deeply missed. Joyce is survived by her 3 children, Karen (Larry) Peterson, Donald (Mary) Plews and Mark (Joyce) Plews; sister, Gladys Golden; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; and son Rodney; infant son Garry; and brother, David Husted. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11AM on Friday September 11, 2015 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to The American Diabetes Association or Harbor Hospice.
