Joyce A. Taylor's Obituary
Mrs. Joyce A. Taylor, 82, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 2016 in Muskegon. She was born February 21, 1934 to Dewey and Bertha (Griswold) Larson in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Joyce worked at GTE for 31 years before retiring in 1982, and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a member of the GTE retirees, the American Business Womens Association, SHHH, and was the Queen of the Purple Chili Peppers Chapter of the Red Hat Society. On June 6, 1970 Joyce married Charles A. Taylor, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1993. Survivors include her daughter Robyn Serene; 2 step-daughters, Tina Barkai and Marjorie (LaVern) Williams; 4 step-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Margaret Larson; niece, Linda Cull; great niece and nephew, Jennifer (Chris) Furlong, James Cull; close friend, Charlie Serene; long time special “buddy”, William Holmburg. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Larson; nephew, David Larson; close cousins, Arlene and Skeeter. Visitation with Joyce’s family will be Friday, April 15, from 5-8 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. There will be no other services.
