Mrs. Joyce Tuuk's Obituary
Mrs. C. Joyce Tuuk, age 84, passed away early Sunday morning, January 5, 2014 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen House in Muskegon. Joyce was born March 10, 1929 to Renn and Nellie (Folkema) Postma in Grand Rapids, and grew up in New Era before moving to Muskegon. She was a longtime member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Guild and Mary Martha Circle. Joyce’s faith and her family were the most important things in her life. On May 13, 1949 Joyce married Gerald J. Tuuk in Muskegon, and he survives her along with 4 children, Roger (Becky) Tuuk of Fremont, Jean (Michael) Freye of Muskegon, Linda Medema of Muskegon, and Bob (Krista) Tuuk of Waterford, MI; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Tuuk, Jason Freye, Nick (Kari) Freye, Leslie (Andy) Stafford, Patrick (Amy) Freye, Nick (Jodi) Medema, Ben (Julie) Medema, Dan Medema, Abbey Medema, and Olivia, Logan, and Jacob Tuuk; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Grace (Leonard) Brink of Allendale; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruth Marie; her father and mother; sisters, Rica Postma, Claire Postma, and Ethel Walhout. The Funeral Service for Joyce will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 8, at the Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Ken Vanderlaan officiating.
