Joyce B. Parker's Obituary
Mrs. Joyce B. Parker, age 82, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in Muskegon. She was born on January 2, 1924 in Iola, IL to James and Ina (Rogers) Bishop, and had resided in the area for most of her life. Mrs. Parker had worked for 25 years directing the food service program at Mona Shores Middle School, was an avid reader and enjoyed going to her family’s sporting events. On July 17, 1942 she married Donald J. Parker, and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1981. Mrs. Parker was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brianne Parker. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Donald (Jan) Parker of Rockford, Tim (Karen) Parker of Muskegon, Jay Parker of Lansing, and Jan Lee Parker of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Parker, McClain Parker, and Samuel Parker; and many lasting friendships from Mona Shores Middle School. SERVICES will be 1 PM Saturday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565. VISITATION with the family will be 7-9 PM Friday, and 1 hour prior to the service, from 12-1 PM Saturday. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated.
