Joy "Joyce" Schertenlieb's Obituary
Mrs. Joy M. Schertenlieb, age 95, passed away late Tuesday evening, March 21, 2006 in Muskegon. She was born December 3, 1910 to William and Dora (Thorpe) Walker in Grand Haven, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Joy was a member of Dalton Baptist Church and was involved with the Muskegon Garden Club. She also enjoyed writing poetry, sewing dolls, painting, and baking. On April 12, 1952 she married Charles E. “Charlie” Schertenlieb. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2005. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Phyllis Monte of Montague, Peggy (Donald) MacMaster of Royal Oak, David (Marcia) Lash of Muskegon; 1 step-son, Dale (Nancy) Schertenlieb of Grand Haven; 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Beverly Cousineau and Bonnie Callahan; 1 step-son, Wayne Schertenlieb; 4 sisters and 4 brothers. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Dalton Baptist Church, with Pastor Eric Coulon officiating. Burial has taken place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
