Ms. Juanice Kelly's Obituary
Ms. Juanice Kelly’s journey on Earth began on January 30, 1952 and ended on January 21, 2018.
“Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also. (John 14:1-3, Amplified Version).
Juanice was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always greeted people with a smile. She was a kind, helpful, and generous lady. She extended her hands to those in need. She was also an exceptional cook who enjoyed sharing her home-cooked meals with others.
Juanice was a member of City of Love Outreach Ministries. She loved and was loved by her church family! Juanice loved Jesus and renewed her faith prior to entering into eternity! In addition, she enjoyed her daughter reading the Word of God to her. Juanice loved spending time with her children and delighted in her sons. Time spent with her grandchildren was a treasure to her!
Juanice retired from Target after 20 plus years of faithful employment.
Juanice has left a legacy of memories that will be forever cherished in the hearts of her three daughters, Shijuan Kelly, Trevona Kelly, L’Monica (Harold) Simpson; three sons, Greg Kelly, Brandon Kelly, and Michael Kelly; grandchildren, Diamond Penegar, Desirae Penegar, Justice Kelly, JaCarius Brown, Leontae Love, Darnell Briggs Jr., Juanice Kelly, Greg Kelly, Geonnia Kelly, and Yas’monea; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Kelly and Naomi French; mother, Mary Mosley; two sisters, Patricia Kelly and Caroline Kelly of Benton Harbor, MI.; one brother, Carolton Kelly of Kalamazoo, MI.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and church family. Juanice was preceded in death by her father, Shelby Dell Kelly; great-grandson, Isaiah French; brothers, Shelby Dell Kelly, Jr. and John Kelly; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, January 27, at 4 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Kevin McCloud, Jr. officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 26, from 5-7 PM.
