Juanita Florez's Obituary
Juanita “Janie” Florez, age 66, passed away Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015, at the Poppen Residence. She was born June 1, 1949 in San Antonio, TX to Juan and Paula Herrada; and has resided in the Muskegon area most of her life. Janie had been a site supervisor for the Christian Community Center for 27 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Derezinski VFW Post Auxiliary. Janie enjoyed her work for the Catholic Diocese, shopping, camping at Round Lake and spending time with her family and friends. On January 27, 1968 she married Robert Florez and he preceded her in death in 2004. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Roverto Juan Florez, Tara (Richard) Hughes and Gabriel (Jessica) Florez; 9 grandchildren, Janella (Corey Duff), Amanda (Ryan King) and Ryan; Jalen, Jaeger and Jayce; Camri, Cassidy, Cali and McKenzie; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She was also preceded in death by a brother. SERVICES will be 11:00AM Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210). VISITATION with Janie’s family will be from 10-11:00 AM Tuesday, prior to the service. Burial will be in Egelston Township Cemetery.
