She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Aaron Deskins, her sister, Joy Taylor, and her brother, Jack Casteel. Nita grew up in Pineville, West Virginia. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and never was happier than when entertaining for her friends and family. She was a terrific cook and hostess (and loved her Chardonnay). Nita loved all animals, especially her cat, Sammy, and enjoyed feeding the birds in their gardens. She collected antiques and had a kitchen gourmet shop in Kalamazoo, The Pepper Mill. Nita and Aaron generously brought people into their lives, their homes, and their family. VISITATION with Nita’s family will be from 3 to 6 PM on Friday, March 24, 2017 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565.
