Judith G. Bishop's Obituary
Mrs. Judith Bishop, age 75, passed away October 10, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 3, 1939 in Newberry, MI to Otto and Bessie (Adkins) Haapalainen, and resided in the Muskegon area for most of her life. Judy was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and was involved in DeColores enCristo for many years. On July 12, 1958 she married Jack Bishop, and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2004. SURVIVORS include 8 children, Julie (Ken) Bilka, Jerry (Deon) Bishop, John Bishop, Jack (Janet) Bishop, Jason (Dawn) Bishop, Jill Gould, Jamie Bishop and Janna (Patrick) Hite; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and good friend, Cindi Mills. Judy was also preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Bessie Haapalainen; and granddaughters, April Boss and Lindsay Bilka. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11AM Tuesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (1132 Southern Ave.) with Pastor John Ferra officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
