Judith A. Knowles' Obituary
Judith A. Knowles, age 73, passed away July 6, 2019 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on November 11, 1945 to Mack and Norma (Burwell) Knowles in Kendallville, IN. Judy worked over 20 years as a Medical Technologist Supervisor in the hospital laboratory for Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. Later she transferred over to Finance Dept. where she worked in several positions. Judy was a longtime member of Muskegon Quadrangle Club of Business and Professional Women serving in many offices as well as President. She attended numerous state and national BPW conventions all over the U.S. Judy was a part of a Mercy corporate team that was sent to Marshall Island to set up a hospital laboratory. This experience had a lasting impression on her food taste and view of other cultures. She actively volunteered as a Big Sister for Big Brothers/Big Sisters for many years in Muskegon. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, reading, cross-stitch, drives to Lake Michigan and trying new restaurants. SURVIVORS include niece, Christy (Scott) Herbert; great-niece and nephews, Erin (Josh) Hatfield, Connor Herbert and Gavin Herbert and lifetime family friend, Francine Lessard. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ellen Lin Todl. Per Judy’s wishes cremation will take place and there will be no services.
