Judith Kay LeCompte's Obituary
Mrs. Judith Kay LeCompte, age 81, passed away at her son’s home in Belmont, Michigan on Saturday, October 4, 2025. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on June 25, 1944. Judy graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1962 and remained an active and devoted alumna throughout her life. She began her professional journey at Kaydon Corporation, and after a brief layoff, she took the opportunity to return to school. Judy earned her Associate of Accounting degree from Muskegon Community College, laying the foundation for a remarkable career. She joined Kaydon Federal Credit Union (later Shoreline) as a teller, marking the beginning of a successful 30-year career. Judy’s dedication, integrity, and leadership were evident as she rose through the ranks—serving as teller, loan officer, assistant manager, and ultimately CEO, where she reported directly to the board of directors and federal regulators. Under her guidance, and through mergers, acquisitions, and expanded services, Judy helped grow Shoreline from a two-million-dollar organization to an eight-million-dollar credit union. She was known as a prolific and respected businesswoman. On August 3, 1968, Judy married the love of her life, Frank M. LeCompte. The two shared nearly 57 wonderful years of marriage until Frank’s passing in July of this year. Family was the heart of Judy’s world. She consistently put her loved ones first and demonstrated her deep care and commitment through her actions. When the need arose, she and Frank welcomed Judy’s mother into their home and spent many years lovingly caring for her. Judy is survived by her son, Chad (Jill) LeCompte; two grandchildren, Michael LeCompte and Elena LeCompte; eight first cousins who were more like siblings, Nancy (Morris) Bon, Charles (Sue) Burns, Robert (Rosemarie) Burns Jr., Debra (Frank) Anderson, Linda Mast, Steven (Julie) Belmarez, Michael (Kristi) Burns, and Rebecca (Bill) Crawford; and many loving family members whom she held dear to her heart. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank LeCompte and her mother, Delizia (Fontana) Reyes. SERVICES for Judy will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be from 5-7 PM Friday, November 7, 2025 at The Lee Chapel and one hour prior to her service on Saturday. MEMORIALS in memory of Judy may be directed to Trinity Health at Home Hospice.
