Judith J. VanderKooi's Obituary
Judith Jean VanderKooi, age 67, passed away Sunday morning, October 2, 2016. She was born January 1, 1949 in Muskegon to Kayle and Jean (Turner) DePoy. On May 4, 1968 she married Donald J. VanderKooi, Jr. in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2014. Judy worked as a teacher’s assistant for Mona Shores Junior High School and was a member of the Family Bible Church. Over the years she enjoyed playing cards with her parents and Don. She also loved her pets, going out to dinner, and long car rides. SURVIVORS include 2 sons: Dan (Angie) VanderKooi, Kayle VanderKooi both of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren: Paige, Elizabeth, Cody, Kale, Kaysi, and Kelsi; 3 brothers: Pastor Jerry (Judy) DePoy of Norton Shores, Jack (Janice) DePoy of Fruitport, Jim (Linda) DePoy of Florida; sister, Janet DePoy of North Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; and special neighbors: Aaron and Jennie Parisi. She was also preceded in death by her parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Judy will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Family Bible Church with her brother, Pastor Jerry DePoy officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the Noah Project will be appreciated.
