Judy Kay Dean's Obituary
Judy Kay Dean passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 81 years old. She was born on December 12, 1943, in Ogden, Utah to Christopher Lederer and Marie (Schuitema) Lederer. Judy lived most of her life in the Muskegon area and earned her nursing degree as an LPN from Muskegon Community College. Judy met her husband, Bruce Dean, in 1998 and they were married a year later, on January 21, 1999, in Muskegon.
Judy will be remembered for her spunk and perfectionism. She was also known for her kind heart and willingness to help anyone in need. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and video poker at the casino. Judy and Bruce wintered in Bullhead City, Arizona, escaping the cold. When the weather was warm, they enjoyed taking walks around their North Muskegon neighborhood.
Judy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bruce; 1 son Chris (Robin) Saunders, of Paradise, MI; 1 daughter-in-law, Dana Saunders of Muskegon; 1 sister, Pam (Chris) Howard of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Heather (Josh) Dexter, Joseph Carpenter and Nicole Carpenter; 3 great-grandchildren, Abigail and Kenneth Dexter, and Bentleigh Carpenter; 1 niece Andrea (Jeff) McHenry and 2 nephews, Chad (Ara) Howard, and Eric (Ben) Kalajainen.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her son, Chad Saunders.
