Judy K. Elliott's Obituary
Judy Kathryn Elliott (Glover), age 73, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Judy was born in Spring Hill, LA, on August 17, 1950, to Clinton Dunbar II and Dorothy Glover. On January 10, 1967, she married Tommy Elliott Sr, and they spent 44 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2011.
Judy graduated from Muskegon High School and went on to work as a Wax Inspector at Howmet Inc. (Misco) for 23 years, retiring in 1996 when her health began to fail. After retirement Judy spent most of her time shopping, getting dressed up, cooking, and caring for others. Judy raised many children over her lifetime, her own as well as many nieces and nephews. She had a generous and giving heart and believed in helping others however she could. Judy knew that she had a mission to serve her Lord, who she accepted as her savior in 1980 under the leadership of the late Rev. Coleman Gilliand Sr. at Jackson Hill Baptist Church. It was there that she participated in the choir and served as a secretary and deaconess. Judy loved the Lord and always had a scripture to guide her in any situation that she found herself in. Years later Judy joined Bethesda Baptist Church to continue her Christian journey.
Judy will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Tommie (Roslyn) Elliott Jr, Pierre (Lisa) Elliott, and Tywana Elliott; a special daughter, Jen’e (Corey) McCain; a special grandchild, Te’Andre Elliott, and 11 other grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; 11 siblings: Dorothy Mae Henry, Earline Brower, Curtis Glover, Robert (Ann) Glover, Dudley Glover, Sharon Dunbar-Butler, Shallena Dunbar, Trina (Jimmy) Jacobs, Shundra (Regginal) Dunbar-Smith, Steven (Shannicia) Dunbar, and Robert Tensley; two brothers in-law: Charles Elliott and Bobby (Lisa) Elliott; a special nephew, Trevor (Candice) Glover; a special cousin, Vera Stephens; and a host of many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Dunbar II and Dorothy Glover; stepfather, James Hawkins; husband, Tommy Elliott Sr; daughter, Shereda Elliott; brother, Clinton Jeffrey Dunbar; father in-law and mother in-law, Tommy and Lutishia Elliott; three brothers in-law; and two sisters in-law.
