Judy A. Ferris' Obituary
Mrs. Judy Arlene Ferris (Garvey) of Norton Shores, age 85, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, August 10, 2021. She was born on November 28, 1935 (on Thanksgiving Day). She was born eleven of thirteen children to Harley and Reeta (McClain) Garvey. Judy married Donald Ferris on July 12, 1952 in Angola, IN. They were happily married for 54 years before Donald passed away in 2007. Judy owned and operated her own hair salon in her home for 25 years. She worked at Russ’s as a hostess for five years and volunteered at Mercy Hospital and Salvation Army. Judy attended Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her three daughters, Rita Weichner, Peggy Ferris, and Nancy (Dean) Griffes all of Muskegon; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) Muscato, Casey Griffes, and Dylan Ferris; five great-grandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Garvey and Jean Ferris. Along with her husband, Don, Judy was also preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers, three sisters, and son-in-law, Fred Weichner. A Funeral Service will be held 3:00PM, Tuesday, August 17 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. Pastor Appold officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 2-3PM. Memorial contributions in Judy’s memory may be directed to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
